PROBUS GROUP VISIT THE STUDIO

A LOVELY HAPPY PROBUS GROUP visited my Studio last week. The local ladies and one gentleman spent an hour or so looking at the artworks, chatting and wandering in the garden. It was a cold but sunny day and everyone had a lovely time. If you have a small group who would like to visit the studio, please phone me on (03) 5442 4006 to arrange a time for your visit. I can take groups up to 20 (with 10 inside the gallery and 10 outside in the garden) We do not have toilet facilites for visitors to the studio, so please arrange to take care of that situation prior to your visit. We love having people come and manage to give everyone a bit of a laugh as well as an artistic experience.

I was recently approached by Jane Curtis of ABC open and she asked if I would agree to a small feature on the ABC web "Now & then" segment. Jane and I met and re-photographed some of my original photographs from 1972 with the "Now" backgrounds of Bendigo streets. This turned out to be an interesting experience with the old and new intermixed. This picture above is one of the pieces to be re-photographed. BENDIGO TRAMS - 40th ANNIVERSARY - BENDIGO TRAMS

HISTORIC AND NOSTALGIC - This 40th. Anniversary of Bendigo Trams ceasing to run as a passenger service can be seen in the many gorgeous images that I took in 1972. APRIL, 1972 THE FINAL TRAM MADE IT'S WAY TO THE DEPOT AFTER THE STATE ELECTRICITY COMMISSION DECIDED TO STOP SERVICES APPARENTLY DUE TO FINANCIAL REASONS. I was lucky to be able to take a series of photographs both colour and black and white images one week before the trams stopped and now the collection has been reproduced for people to see and enjoy. EASTER EXHIBITION 2012 (MORE PICS)

A FEW MORE PICTURES FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT - Taken at home during my Easter Exhibition. May and Den in the Courtyard checking out some paintings. Pam and Ray on rainy Monday when we had to rearrange all outside areas so that nothing got wet. A couple of photos taken of me in the outside undercover area we set up especially for the Easter weekend. Thank heavens we have a lovely gallery room which is now full to the brim with lovely paintings. Another picture of our gorgeous dragon flag in the garden and some of Kev's Quirky Birds. EASTER EXHIBITION 2012

2012 EASTER EXHIBITION
THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I HAVE MY ANNUAL EASTER EXHIBITION. I have had 18 Exhibitions here at home over the past
26 years (obviously there were a few times where it was not possible to exhibit for one reason or another) however, it has always been a pleasure to have so many wonderful people come to the studio and enjoy the ambience and artworks. I just don't have the energy to do all the setting up work required

This year the blog is useful to show some of the lovely people who have attended on Saturday - children xavier and Orlando who were fascinated with Kevins sculpture - Ken and his grandchildren relaxing in the garden, Craig from Bendigo in the gallery, Des and Rhonda from Bendigo in the courtyard and Jan and Doug from Melbourne in the gallery. Some of Kev's sculpture and a couple of quick shots of the outside areas of the exhibition as well - come along and enjoy.

STUDIO OPEN AGAIN

"FACES OF BENDIGO" I will be launching these new gorgeous cards at my Easter Exhibition 2012. The idea has been brewing since I first thought of it in 1966 - yes- that is correct 46 years ago. The digital age has helped me to finally get my act together and publish photos, many of which were taken originally in the 1960's. I have also taken many others to get the collection together. The series of cards still have the last few to be completed, but I can offer 18 different designs to get you out there hunting for these elusive faces. Each card has a particular area to hunt (i.e. Rosalind Park, The Law Courts etc) Terrific cards showcasing Bendigo in a slightly different way, ideal to collect, to send and/or to use to hunt down the faces - great fun for the whole family. There are four in the series of faces at my Art studio, come and find them too - we'd love to see you.
